Angels Opening Day Affairs

Angels Opening Day Affairs

Seattle Mariners visit the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim on Opening Day. The game won't be the only thing worth noting though, as a legend will become more legendary prior to the game even beginning.

The Los Angeles Angels open the season against the Seattle Mariners tonight at 7:00 PM.

The game will be aired on ESPN 2, but what won't be are the affairs prior.

First off, the Opening Day starting lineup for the road team, Seattle Mariners:

Abraham Almonte, CF

Brad Miller, SS

Robinson Cano, 2B

Justin Smoak, 1B

Logan Morrison DH

Kyle Seager, 3B

Michael Saunders, RF

Dustin Ackley, LF

Mike Zunino, C

Felix Hernandez, RHP

Now, of course, the Los Angeles Angels Opening Day lineup:

Kole Calhoun, RF

Mike Trout, CF

Albert Pujols, 1B

Josh Hamilton, LF

David Freese, 3B

Raul Ibanez, DH

Howie Kendrick, 2B

Chris Iannetta, C

Erick Aybar, SS

Jered Weaver, RHP

With the lineups set, we have to have a first pitch. It's only proper that a legend be the one to throw out the first pitch of the season for the respective home team. A legend it will be, with Vladimir Guerrero.

Guerrero will be throwing from the mound to now hitting coach and the only other former Angel to win a Most Valuable Player Award with the team, Don Baylor.

The first pitch won't be the only Vladdy highlight of the night. Guerrero was signed to a one-day contract today, and will announce his official retirement with the Los Angeles Angels prior to the pitch.

Make sure you find a way to catch the Opening Day game between the Mariners and Angels on ESPN 2 tonight at 7:00 PM.
