Angels Sign Dominican 16-Year-Old Johan Sala

The Angels have signed 16-year-old Dominican prospect, Johan Sala, for $300K.

Reports came in early this morning that 16-year-old, Johan Sala, from the Dominican Republic has signed with the Los Angeles Angels.

Despite not being in the MLB's Top 30 International prospects, Sala, has multiple scouting reports all with nearly the same report.

Sala is a plus hitter that makes good contact, with help from his quick bat speed, leading to a strong, line-drive swing. Sala has an aggressive approach like many international prospects. His standout qualities are his speed and defense. With good jumps and breaks to the ball, helped by his above average speed, he remains a serious threat in center field and could be a standout in coming years with the DSL Angels, and could be playing in America by the time he's in his late teens (2-3 years).

The Angels gave Sala a $300K signing bonus, leaving them with $2.08 million left in international signing.
