Kernels place six on All-Star team

The Midwest League of Professional Baseball Clubs, Inc. released the rosters for the 2007 Midwest League Summer All-Star Classic scheduled for Tuesday, June 19th at Philip B. Elfstrom Stadium in Geneva, Illinois and hosted by the Kane County Cougars.

Six players will represent the Cedar Rapids Kernels on the West Roster at the All-Star Classic: OF Chris Pettit and DH Matt Sweeney were selected as starters; C Hank Conger and INF P.J. Phillips were selected as reserve players; and LHP Doug Brandt and RHP Tim Schoeninger were selected as pitchers.

The All-Stars were nominated and selected by the Field Managers of the MWL. The Clinton LumberKings placed eight players with three starters on the West All-Star roster as Beloit, Quad Cities and Cedar Rapids had six players.
