Gordie Gronkowski has collected at least two hits in each of his last seven games, and he's batting a ridiculous .471 to start the Pioneer League season.
The 24-year-old excelled in a three-game set against Idaho Falls, as he combined to go 10-for-13 with two home runs, two doubles, 11 RBIs and five runs scored. Gronkowski knocked in six runs on Thursday to lead the Owlz to a 15-8 victory.
He was selected by the Los Angeles Angels in the 49th round of the 2006 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft out of Jacksonville University.
Gronkowski led Jacksonville with 10 home runs, 88 hits, 139 total bases, a .565 slugging percentage and a .448 on-base percentage in his senior season.
He hit .282 over 13 games with the Owlz last season and sported a .404 on base percentage.
