Gordie Gronkowski earned Player of the Week honors in the Pioneer League for games played through the week ending July 1.

Gordie Gronkowski has collected at least two hits in each of his last seven games, and he's batting a ridiculous .471 to start the Pioneer League season.

The 24-year-old excelled in a three-game set against Idaho Falls, as he combined to go 10-for-13 with two home runs, two doubles, 11 RBIs and five runs scored. Gronkowski knocked in six runs on Thursday to lead the Owlz to a 15-8 victory.

He was selected by the Los Angeles Angels in the 49th round of the 2006 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft out of Jacksonville University.

Gronkowski led Jacksonville with 10 home runs, 88 hits, 139 total bases, a .565 slugging percentage and a .448 on-base percentage in his senior season.

He hit .282 over 13 games with the Owlz last season and sported a .404 on base percentage.
