Peter Bourjos was placed on the DL back on May 18 with a ruptured tendon in his left ring finger. He had played in 25 games and was batting .275 (25-91) with a home run and 12 RBI with the Kernels and played in four rehab games with Tempe, batting .313 (5-16) with a triple and one RBI.
Julio Perez played in 67 games for the Kernels and was batting .216 (49-227) with two home runs and 14 RBI He had nine doubles and scored 20 runs and was 2 for 5 on stolen base attempts.
Bourjos will be in Cedar Rapids and is expected to be in the lineup for Monday’s home game with the Clinton LumberKings at 7 pm.
Today’s roster moves leave the Kernels at the Midwest League maximum of 25 players, with seven currently on the disabled list.
