Biography:
Pitching most of the year as an 18-year-old, the fifth round pick from the 2005 draft more than held his own, posting a 4.17 ERA. In particular, he impressed in the second half of the season when he began to trust his pitching rather than trying to throw it by everyone. He was scheduled to open 2007 in Rancho Cucamonga before a shoulder injury pushed him back.
