Biography:
A classic power hitter, Renz paced the Midwest League in 2006 with 24 homers, but he also struck out 178 times in just 450 at-bats. The holes in the big righty's swing were exploited as the season wore on and he hit just .194 after the first of June. He will have to put the bat on the ball more frequently to get regular at-bats for Rancho Cucamonga in 2007.
